Costa Rica , a colourful journey awaits you

Costa Rica is a small country that is known for its diverse wildlife and beautiful beaches. I had the opportunity to live in Costa Rica for two decades, and it was an amazing experience. The country is full of lush rain forests, stunning waterfalls, and active volcanoes. Costa Rica is definitely a must-see destination for nature lovers!

Costa Rica is a beautiful country, and there are many great places to stay while you're visiting. But deciding where to stay can be tricky - especially if you're not sure what to look for. That's why I've put together a short list of the best places to visit in Costa Rica, whether you're looking for an eco-friendly resort or a cheap hostel, there is something for every one.

One of my favourite things about Costa Rica is the coffee . Costa Rica has some of the best coffee in the world . Coffee from the Tarrazu region is my personal favourite with high acidity and citrous notes . If you must go to the capital San José (not a must) , visit the Poas volcano in the morning and the Alsacia coffee farm owned by Starbucks in the afternoon . I definitely recommend staying at the Grano de Oro, a boutique hotel with outstanding breakfast (the best in the city) lunch and dinner and outstanding service.

I always say the nicest beaches that I have seen are in Cuba and Dominican Republic, but Costa Rica also has very nice ones. My favourite ones are on the Caribbean side in the area of Puerto Viejo where you will experience something truly unique. Once there I would also visit Tortuguero National Park, the network of canals, rivers, lagoons, to get there is mesmerizing .Once there , the dense rainforest will impress you. This park protects a long list of exotic plants and animals, including endangered species such as green macaws, jaguars, and several species of sea turtles. The Green Sea and Hawksbill turtle's nesting season runs from July to October with the peak in August, and the extremely rare and difficult to see Leatherback turtles nest from February to April. It is possible to see individual turtles at any time of the year.

Costa Rica is a nature lover's paradise and the perfect place to escape the cold winter weather. While there are many things to do in this beautiful country, one of the best activities is eating! Costa Rican cuisine is a mix of Spanish, indigenous, and African flavors, and there are plenty of restaurants serving up delicious dishes. So what should you eat while in Costa Rica? Quality of food can be uneven and expensive, so eat like the locals : Gallo Pinto a rice and beans is a staple of every breakfast .Casado ( "married man" in Spanish) is a Costa Rican meal using rice, black beans, plantains, salad, a tortilla, and an optional protein source such as chicken, beef, pork, fish and so on. The term may have originated when restaurant customers asked to be treated as casados, since married men ate such meals at home. It is usually inexpensive and filling .But the thing I like the best is the abundance and variety of fruits . Even the simple banana tastes better, and the pineapple and papaya will make you shun purchasing these items back home ever again.

Costa Rica is a country that is known for its natural beauty. Some people might wonder when the best time to go to Costa Rica is, and the answer really depends on what you want to do. If you're looking to explore the nature of Costa Rica, then the best time to go is during the dry season, which lasts from December to April. However, if you're looking for a more vibrant atmosphere with more things to do, then the best time to go is during the rainy season, which lasts from May to November. I personally love the rainy season ; greener, cheaper and less busy.
