What is the origin of your coffees? 

Café 1936 are Torrefecato style coffees .This process was invented in Spain in 1936 during the Spanish War and enjoyed ever since in Cuba and other Latin American countries

 

What is the caffeine content of your coffees?

Our 1936  instant coffees  contain between 50mg and 60mg per 2g serve.

 

Where do your coffee beans come from?

The beans chosen for our 1936 coffees are 100 % arabica beans from the Highlands of Mexico.

 

What is the difference between Arabica and Robusta beans?

The coffee we drink is made with either Arabica or Robusta coffee beans, or a blend of the two.  Arabica coffee beans are known for their vibrant and complex flavours, these beans are loved by coffee connoisseurs because of their smooth taste and delicate aroma. 1936 coffees are produced with 100 % arabica beans.

 

What kind of sugar do you use for your torrefacto method? 

We only use 100 % cane sugar.

 

How much sugar does your coffee have?

1936 Torrefacto coffee is created by adding small amounts of pure cane sugar at the end of the roasting process. The late stages of roasting produce the most heat, so rather than the sugar adding sweetness, it is burnt and coats the beans in a shiny, delicious caramel colour which gives our coffees their unique flavour and aroma. 

 

Why does your coffee have more antioxidants than other coffees?

The venerable Torrefacto technique provides a unique and exquisite alternative for coffee lovers while supplying added antioxidants.

 

How many servings are in a jar of coffee?

A standard serve of coffee is approximately 1.7g (0.05 OZ|) per 170 ml (5.75 OZ) of water . In a 226 g jar there will be approximately 133 servings and so on! This can me more or less depending on your taste. We recommend one teaspoon (4 grams ) or 2 teaspoons for strong coffee lovers per 240 ml (8 OZ) cups

 

Are 1936 coffees gluten free?

Yes, 1936 are gluten-free. They do not contain gluten containing ingredients or processed with gluten.

 

Are 1936 coffees GMO free?

Yes, 1936 coffees are GMO free.

 

Do you use natural flavourings in your flavoured coffees?

We have worked hard to achieve the most natural taste possible .We use both natural and artificial ingredients . 

 

How is instant coffee good  for you?

Instant coffee contains slightly less caffeine and more acrylamide than regular coffee, but it contains most of the same antioxidants. Overall, instant coffee is a healthy, low-calorie beverage that is linked to the same health benefits as other types of coffee.

 

Is instant coffee the same as powdered coffee?

Instant coffee is dehydrated ground coffee, while espresso powder is dark roast coffee that has been ground, brewed, dried, and then ground very finely. Espresso powder is more concentrated and typically used for baking, while instant coffee is mixed with hot water to make regular brewed coffee.

 

What should I look for when buying instant coffee?

Can you mix instant coffee with ground coffee?

Instant coffee is just dried coffee and by adding hot water you should have a perfectly good cup of joe. ... Coffee makers are designed to brew ground coffee so by slowly dripping the hot water through the instant coffee it won't mix with all the instant coffee grains and may leave some in your mesh or paper filter.

 

Can you use Instant Coffee in a Coffee Maker?

Instant coffee and ground coffee are completely different and you should not add instant coffee to your coffee maker. Putting instant coffee in your coffee machine will gunk up your machine and cause issues when you actually need to brew ground coffee.
