It is also the size of Pennsylvania! Here are just a few of the things that made my trip to Guatemala so special.

Home of some of the finest coffees in the world,Guatemala is a beautiful country with a lot to offer. From the beautiful colonial town of Antigua and ancient ruins of Tikal to the stunning Lake Atitlan, there is something for everyone. Here are some ideas of things to do in Guatemala.
There's something about ancient ruins that just makes you feel like you're a part of history. Maybe it's the way they're so well-preserved, or maybe it's because of the stories they tell. Either way, I always find myself drawn to them. And that's how I ended up at Tikal, one of the most famous ancient ruined cities in the world. Located in modern-day Guatemala, Tikal was once the center of a powerful Maya kingdom. It was a bustling metropolis filled with temples, palaces, and pyramids. But today, it's an abandoned city surrounded by jungle. And it's absolutely breathtaking.
Who doesn't love a good ruin? There's something about ancient buildings that just speaks to our sense of wonder. And when those ruins are set against the backdrop of a lush jungle, well, it's simply magic. Tikal is one of those special places.. Today, it's an archaeological site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But don't let that fool you,Tikal is still very much alive. Take a walk through these ancient ruins and you'll feel the energy of this place, and maybe even get a glimpse into the past.
If you're looking for a breathtaking lake destination, look no further than Lake Atitlan. With its dramatic volcanic setting and idyllic weather, it's no wonder this place is often called the "Jewel of the Maya World." Situated in the Guatemalan highlands, Lake Atitlan is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It's also one of the most dangerous, due to its volatile volcanic past. But that doesn't stop people from flocking to its shores, in search of adventure and breathtaking views. And don't even get me started on the food, you'll find some of the best Guatemalan cuisine here. So whether you're looking to relax or explore, Lake Atitlan is sure to impress.
Guatemala is a land of contrasts. From the bustling city streets of Guatemala City to the ancient ruins of Tikal, there's something for everyone in this vibrant Central American country. And when it comes to food, Guatemala certainly doesn't disappoint. From tasty street food to hearty stews and fresh seafood, there's plenty to choose from when you're exploring the culinary scene in Guatemala. Food in Guatemala is as diverse as its people. From traditional Maya cuisine to Spanish-influenced dishes, there's something for everyone in this Central American country. And don't forget the fresh fruits and vegetables! Whether you're looking for a quick snack or a hearty meal, you'll find it in Guatemala. Buen provecho!
Overall, I have had amazing times in Guatemala. From the beautiful scenery and friendly people to the delicious food, there was always something for everyone to enjoy.
