Stunning views of the Andes Mountains as a backdrop to Quito

Steinbeck once said "travelling is a metaphor for life." I couldn't agree more. Have you ever been to a city that just takes your breath away? The first time I visited Quito, Ecuador I was astounded by the beauty of the Andes mountains that hug the city and the mix of cultures that create this unique place. From ancient churches to modern skyscrapers, there is something for everyone in Quito. The scenery from the cityscape to the surrounding countryside is breathtaking. Whether you are looking for an adventure or simply want to relax and take in the sights, this city has something for everyone.

There are so many things to see and do here that it can be hard to know where to start. Here is a short guide to some of the best activities in Quito. From exploring the colonial churches and museums, to trekking in the nearby mountains, there is something for everyone in this fascinating city.

If you've ever been to Ecuador, then you know that the country is full of beautiful churches. One of the most stunning churches in all of Ecuador is the Basilica del Voto Nacional. This church is located in the city, and it's definitely worth a visit! The architecture is absolutely incredible, and the inside is just as impressive as the outside. If you're looking for an amazing church to visit while in Ecuador, make sure to check out the Basilica del Voto Nacional.

Plaza Grande is one of the largest public squares in South America, and a stroll through it is an essential Quito experience. Here you'll find government buildings, churches, and museums that are sure to inspire. Plus, on any given day you'll see locals and tourists alike enjoying a cup of coffee or a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants and cafes lining the square. Come take a walk with me!

Do you enjoy exploring historical neighborhoods? If so, be sure to add Old Town Quito to your list of destinations! This fascinating area is home to winding streets, beautiful churches, and centuries-old architecture. You'll love getting lost in the labyrinth of cobblestone streets and uncovering all the secrets it has to offer. A visit to Old Town Quito is a must for anyone traveling to Ecuador. This historic district is home to some of the country's most impressive architecture, and offers plenty of opportunities for exploration.

If you're looking for the middle of the world, you can find it in Ecuador. In fact, there's a monument that marks the spot! Mitad del Mundo (Middle of the World) is located about 25 miles north of Quito, and it's a popular tourist destination. The monument itself is a large red and white globe that sits atop an equatorial tower. Visitors can climb to the top for stunning views of the countryside.

Quito is home to a lot of breathtaking attractions, but one of the most stunning is El Panecillo. This hilltop statue towering above the city offers stunning 360-degree views, and it's definitely worth the hike up! Whether you're looking to snap some amazing photos or just take in the incredible landscape, El Panecillo should definitely be on your list of things to see in Quito.

Quito is a foodie's dream come true. The city is home to an amazing mix of international and Ecuadorian cuisine, making for a delicious (and affordable) dining experience. From traditional Ecuadorian dishes like ceviche and empanadas to Indian buffets and Italian restaurants, there's something for everyone in Quito. And don't forget the drinks! Ecuador is well-known for its delicious coffee and chocolate, so make sure you indulge while you're in town. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner spot or an evening out with friends, Quito has something to offer everyone who loves good food.

Coffee is definitely one of the world's most popular drinks, and it seems to be particularly beloved in Ecuador. In addition to the usual suspects – dark roasts, espresso, lattes – there are all sorts of local variations on coffee that are worth exploring. If you're looking for an interesting and delicious drink to sample while in Ecuador, coffee is definitely the way to go.

If you're looking for an unforgettable travel experience, be sure to put Quito on your list. This vibrant city is full of history and culture, and its stunning scenery will take your breath away. From the winding streets of the Old Town to the snow-capped peaks of the Andes Mountains, Quito has something for everyone.
