Our Smoky Coffee Steak Rub
Calling all steak lovers! Elevate your grilling game with our incredible 1936 Instant Coffee Steak Rub. It's a secret ingredient that will add a bold and smoky flavor to your favorite cuts of beef.
Our Instant coffee is a surprising addition in flavourful rubs for steaks or roasts, proving that coffee and meat go well together. Make your own by combining brown sugar, 1936 Torrefacto instant coffee, smoked paprika, and dried herbs and spices.
Start out slowly when considering how much coffee to add by mixing one part 1936 instant coffee with two parts sugar and spices, then taste and adjust as necessary (bearing in mind that the coffee flavour will intensify as the meat cooks).
Ingredients:
-2 tablespoons 1936 Torrefacto Cubano Classic Instant Coffee
-1 tablespoon brown sugar
-1 tablespoon smoked paprika
-1 teaspoon garlic powder
-1 teaspoon onion powder
-1 teaspoon black pepper
-1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
• Step 1
In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients: instant coffee grounds, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
• Step 2
Mix well until all the spices are evenly incorporated.
• Step 3
Pat your steak dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
• Step 4
Generously rub the instant coffee steak rub onto both sides of the steak, ensuring it's coated evenly.
• Step 5
Let the steak rest at room temperature for 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.
• Step 6
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
• Step 7
Place the steak on the grill and cook to your desired level of doneness, flipping halfway through. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of your steak and your preferred level of doneness.
• Step 8
Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
• Step 9
Slice and serve your perfectly grilled steak with your favorite sides.
In conclusion, instant coffee rub can be a convenient and versatile option for adding a unique flavor profile to various dishes. Here is a pro tip: we prefer a bolder coffee flavor, increasing the amount of 1936 Torrefacto instant coffee grounds in the rub.
