You say Coffee Caramel Custard we say Flan De Cafe
One of my all-time favourite desserts is flan in any form. The custard, while soft and creamy, is firm enough to keep its shape. With a spoon, I can take a big bite out of it and watch the caramel topping flow into the void. You shouldn't rush through this dessert; instead, savour each bite.
As a fellow coffee enthusiast, I decided to add some kick to a traditional flan recipe this year. However, flan is actually quite simple to prepare, despite its seemingly elaborate name. This is a recipe you have to try! Your loved ones will be impressed, and you'll get an excellent dessert to enjoy in the afternoon.
Flan, the traditional Mexican baked custard dessert, is made with eggs, egg yolks, vanilla, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. It reminds me a little of creme caramel, actually. In order to get its typical silky, creamy texture, it is baked in a water bath, inverted, and chilled before being topped with caramel sauce and served. We will offer you a quicker an easier version.
Flan is similar to a milky, sweet cheesecake with a toasted sugar caramel sauce on top. Both the custardy base and the caramelised top have subtle coffee notes thanks to the espresso I infused into the recipe.
